Youth Pastor

Full Job Description

Valley Church is seeking to hire a new full-time youth pastor for this fall. We are in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver and are a multi-cultural church with a couple hundred members. We love Jesus and want to share his love with the world. Job Summary

The Youth Pastor provides leadership and oversight of the youth ministry (SoulTrek Youth Group) at Valley Church. The person in this role is responsible for implementing a weekly program, developing a team of volunteer leaders, planning events, and mentoring students. These initiatives all serve to support our teenagers’ spiritual and emotional development as they live out their faith and become disciples of Christ.
 

Duties

  • Provide a consistent weekly youth group program that includes engaging games, worship and preaching
  • Recruit and equip a team of volunteer leaders to run the various elements of the youth group
  • Plan large events as an opportunity for our students to develop stronger friendships and as an outreach to our community
  • Develop a mentorship program for leaders and students
  • Manage a budget, database and follow church policies
  • Plan and execute a yearly youth missions’ trip
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Work in collaboration with the leadership team on church vision and strategy
  • Participate in the planning and execution of church-wide events in coordination with the leadership team
  • Participate and assist in our Children’s Day Camp for one week each summer
  • Give a written report for Annual General Meeting

Qualifications

  • An authentic and deepening relationship with Christ
  • Previous experience volunteering in a youth group or working as a youth pastor
  • Post-Secondary theological education
  • Good communication skills; verbal and written
  • Ability to relate well to others and to be a team player
  • Strong coaching/mentoring skills are an asset
  • Displays leadership qualities like faith, vision, maturity, wisdom, and love
  • Aptitude for computers and social media
  • Must be a Canadian citizen/ PR and a British Columbia resident is preferred

Worship Director

Full Job Description

Valley Church is a Christ-centered, Spirit-led community with a heart for authentic worship and meaningful connection. We are currently seeking a Worship Director who will provide spiritual leadership and guidance across the worship ministry, working closely with our worship teams, sound tech volunteers, activating the choir when needed, and collaborating with the livestream team to deliver high-quality broadcasts.

Job Summary

The Worship Director will shape the worship experience of the church by leading, mentoring, and coordinating music teams that are passionate about praise and grounded in biblical worship. This role is key in creating a seamless, Spirit-led service in partnership with the Lead Pastor and the preaching team.

 

Duties

Worship Leadership & Service Planning

  • Coordinate weekly worship services in alignment with the Lead Pastor
  • Ensure smooth service flow from worship to the Word
  • Plan and lead worship when required, especially for special events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, baptisms, and prayer nights)

Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members, choir (when required), and sound/tech volunteers
  • Schedule worship teams quarterly using Churchtrac
  • Host monthly leaders' meetings and annual all-team gatherings

Administration & Oversight

  • Maintain worship equipment and music spaces
  • Submit annual reports and manage song usage reporting (CCLI)
  • Attend weekly/monthly staff meetings

Qualifications

  • A committed Christian with a heart for worship and discipleship
  • Previous worship leading experience in a church setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and resolve conflict
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable delegating responsibilities
  • Familiarity with worship planning tools and sound equipment (training can be provided)

Pay

$24.50 per hour

Job type

Part-Time, 16 hours/week

  • flexible, based on service prep and event schedules
  • Includes occasional early mornings, evenings, and seasonal increases (e.g., Christmas)
  • Hybrid on-site presence required, especially during services and rehearsals
